BABY SHOWER CARD

Here's the baby shower card I made for  my niece.  She had the baby on the Tuesday after we had the shower on Sunday.  We almost had a baby at the shower.  We really cut it close.  She was a few weeks early, but the baby is fine.

This is an A2 size card cut 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" from blue card stock and folded in half.  The blue plaid and patterned paper are from DCWV Nursery boy.  I punched the corners of the patterned paper with my Fiskars corner punch. The bunny is cut from the Cricut Sampler cartridge at 2".  The shadow was cut from the blue card stock and the top layer was cut from the plaid.  I used a scrap of pink for the ears and tail.
I used a black gel pen to stitch around the image and drew his eye free hand.  I tied a piece of sheer green ribbon with white polka dots from Offray around the patterned paper and secured it to the blue plaid paper.

Inside the card I used blue ink to stamp It's a Boy using a stamp I have had for a long time.  I don't remember who its made by.  I have been using it for scrapbook pages for years.

So there you have it.  I noticed on my last post my pictures were not very good quality.  Also they were not oriented correctly.  It made them difficult to view.  I have been having techno difficulty with my computer and posted my last post from my mobile phone.  I think this page looks much better.  I'm learning as I go.

I have to confess I bought Blogging for Dummies and it has really helped.  I was finally able to grab a badge from Emma at My Creative Time.  I am going to attempt to link this to her blog.  Hope it works.

As always I appreciate any comments or suggestions. I would like some input considering my choice of font.  Is it difficult to read?  I like the way it looks but maybe it needs to be plainer.  Give me some feedback.

Enjoyed sharing this card with you.  Now that I have my computer back I'll be posting more often.  Until we blog again take care.  Bye Bye

Shades of Purple

Liliac or lavender? I'm not sure.  Are they shades of purple?  What do you think? The set of 4 note cards I made as a thank you gift fits well as an entry on DL Art Thankful Thursday Challenge hosted by Diana Larson. I used the following supplies to create these Just a Note cards. White cardstock cut for A2 size envelope. The purple polka dot and stripe paper is DCWV Nursery for boy. I cut each piece a 1/4" smaller than the card then cut that in 1/2.  This made two cards with the polka dot pattern on top and the striped pattern on the bottom.  I used ribbon of a coordinating color to cover the seam.  The sentiment is from My Creative Time stamp set "Happy Mail". I stamped it using Wisteria cats eye chalk from Colorbox.  I also used the Wisteria to stamp the center flower design and my gift tag.  The stamp I used for the center square cut to fit and popped up was from Studio 112. Finally I found a ribbon just the right color from my stash to tie the 4 cards together for presentation.  The tag was cut on the Cricut using George and Basic Shapes cartridge page 102 . The scalloped oval was cut from the Storybook cartridge at 1" page 49. I can't remember where I got the thank you stamp from, I've had it a long time. The background flourish is an Inkadinkadoo stamp. So that's it. Now to link it. I have been having some trouble with doing a link so if I mess up again, Please send me some hints or suggestions. They would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your comments on my last posts. You don't know how excited I was. Kim

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog

Thanks everyone for leaving me comments and becoming followers. I have had so many helpful hints. I have also discovered numerous new blogs with lots of creative designs and ideas.
I will try to post a card I made for the FCCB challenge to use a pun.  I'm  trying post this from my phone.
Another thing I need some help  with is grabbing badges or buttons and getting them to my blog.

Here's what I used to make my Easter card
Cricut cuts:  "Celebrate with a Flourish" cartridge, I cut the bunny and all the layers @ 3 1/2".
Papers used:  White cardstock  cut A2 size and the corners rounded  with EK success punch.
DCWV purlpe polka dot and plaid from Nursery pack from  Big Lots.  Solid purple from stash.  Both greens came from Martha Stewart 8x8 stack.
Embellishments:  pink flowers and yellow buttons from stash.  Purple DMC floss #340 on buttons and on card.
Colorbox cats eye chalk used on edges' Wistera on bunny and Ice Jade on grass.
Stickles Eucalyptus to bling up the grass.
Sentiment was written few hand on purple with white gel pen and flag cut free hand.
Stitching around bunny and sentiment was done with a purple gel pen.

So there you have it.  Now I have to get busy on scrapbooking my nieces baby shower.  I made a real cute card for her. I will have to post it so everyone can see it.
Thanks for joining on my blogging adventure!

Throwback Thursday Challenge at My Creative Time

Emma's challenge this week was to make anything with a bug.  Her new stamp release is coming out and all this week she has been teasing us with her sneak peeks.  Can't wait to see what she's created.  If you haven't been to her blog http://www.mycreativetime.com you should give it a try.
My project for this challenge is a gift bag.
I used the following supplies,
White gift bag purchased a wal-mart
Green plaid cardstock from DCWV Nursery boy,
All four corners punched with Fiskars corner punch.
Cricut cartridges Paperdoll Dress Up and Doodle charms.
The grass and the white picket fence were cut from Paperdoll Dress Up
the ladybug was cut from Doodlecharms.
I used crystals and Martha Stewart
glitter to bling up my ladybug.
The flowers are from  Calypso Tin and the yellow covered brads are from Memory Maker's.
I used ribbon from Offray to make the stems and to tie the bow at the top of the bag.
My sentiment is a stamp from Studio 112 from Joanne's. My snail is from MCT stamps "Happy Mail".
Oh by the way I used silver jewelry wire for the ladybug's antenna.
I have to admit this turned out a lot
cuter than I thought it would.  Ideas just popped into my head during the process of making it.
Hope you enjoyed blogging along with me.
